SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP
BUILDING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT
REVISED FEE SCHEDULE
(AMENDED July 2004)

BUILDING FEES:

Building Permits for new single family and 2 family residences:

One (1) square foot up to 1,000 square feet - $400.00
For each 1,000 square feet or fraction thereof - $250.00

Building Permits for any changes, alterations or additions to such existing residences (on the basis of estimated construction costs).

$500 or less: $30.00
$501 - $1,000 $35.00
$1,000 - $15,000 $35.00 plus $30 for each $1,000 estimated construction over $1,000
$15,001 - $200,000 $455.00 plus $5.00 for each $1,000 estimated
construction over $15,001
$200,001 or more $1,380.00 plus $4.00 for each $1,000 estimated
construction over $200,001.


Building Permits for new construction, changes, alterations or additions to residences for 3 or more families and for Building Permits for new non-residential and business construction:

$500 plus $.45 per square foot or fraction thereof

Note: all square footage computations based on exterior dimensions of all floors of living
area, office space, etc., including basement, undergoing alterations or additions.

Building Permits for the installation of cell towers, antenna or other non-residential structure without square footage.

$1.00 - $1,000 - $100.00
$1,001 to $15,000 - $150 plus $10 for each $1,000 estimated cost over $1,001.
$15,001 - $200,000 - $290 plus $10 for each $1,000 estimated cost over $15,001.
$200,001 or more - $2,140 plus $7 for each $1,000 estimated cost over $200,001.

Demolition Permits:
$20.00 per $1,000 estimated cost of demolition.
Certificate of Occupancy:
Residential Use - $20 per unit
Commercial, business, industrial and institutional: $25 per occupancy
Sign Permits:
$50.00 To erect a sign
$15.00 per face
Siding, Roofing & Window Permits:
Permit fees for the installation of siding and all windows on structures shall be on the basis of the set Building Permit fee for the type of use of said structures. The applicant must provide a copy of the contract between homeowner and contractor at the time a Building Permit applied for.


PLUMBING FEES:
Master Plumber Registration & Re-registration:
$70.00 Registration
$50.00 Re-Registration
Journeyman Plumber Registration & Re-registration:
$35.00 Registration
$20.00 Re-Registration
Fixtures:
$100.00 new building with 1-5 fixtures. $20.00 each additional fixture
$30.00 for alterations, additions and/or replacement fixtures

Sewer Connection Fee: $4,174.00 (2005) Fee changes annually. Call for new amount in January

Garbage Disposal (new) $20.00

Garbage Disposal (Replacement) $10.00

Pool Pumping Permit Fee: $7.00 for every 5,000 gallons pumped or part thereof, with a maximum of $35.00

Sanitary Sewer Inspection Fee: $35.00 per hour or fraction thereof.


ZONING FEES:
Zoning Hearing Board Applications
Residential - $400.00
Non-residential - $800.00

If expenses exceed filing fee, applicant shall be billed and liable for any additional expenses.

Zoning District Change: $2,000

Said fee covers the application fee of $800. Non-refundable and any additional expenses incurred. If expenses exceed filing fee, applicant shall be billed and liable for any additional expenses. If expenses are less that filing fee, applicant shall receive a refund less the application fee.

MISCELLANEOUS

Highway Permits - Dumpster placed in street $50.00 per week
  Street Opening-Contractor must repair $5.00 per sq. yd
  Curb Cut $10.00/per 10 linear feet
  Erect a Pole $20.00 (no fee to renew; permit is required)
